Long time no write.. I've been quite busy lately jigsaw'ing bits of wood out of my front door, buying beds, buying mountain bikes and generally sorting the house out. I still haven't had time to do any pics yet, what with working late at work for a while.

Also in my spending spree, well as a nice gift to myself as I dont often splash on out on tech or things. I rarely buy anything really. I decided it was time I bought a decent mixer which had decent cueing ability and proper outputs for PA's. My goal for 2010, is to start DJ'ing in locals places such as the infamous Fawcett Inn pub, and potentially some other similar places.

Anyway here is my lovely new mixer. Allen & Heath Xone:22. Pretty new piece of kit and its lovely!!
My only problem is the bass it kicks out to the headphones is imense, so much so my headphones distort a bit. Next payday looks like I'll be buying some new headphones



I've pretty much got beatbatching and phrasing all knocked on the head with cdj's. Even with my imprecise CDJ 100's. I shall start releasing regular mixes soon as I get more housework out the way. I'm gonna lay down some co-ax cable through walls this weekend, so I dont have to use this terrible wireless router anymore. Week after that I have a full bathroom suite being delivered, so I need to quickly arrange some decent plumbers and decorators too. Busy times indeed!

Its been a while since I updated here.

Went to Southwest Four a while ago. It was a mini festival on Clapham Common. Really good fun. Saw Armin van Buuren there and he even spoke to me!!! I was right at the front, he looked at me, stuck his thumbs up, and mouthed "Ya Alright?" I just smiled insanely back!

Went to see Fatboy Slim in Brighton a few weeks ago. Weather was absolutely ace, but I wasn't that impressed with the event. Its done on the beach road, so its not very wide, and as such the crowd goes back about a mile. People are forever pushing past you to get in and out and when you need a toilet break it takes half an hour of pushing past people to get to the toilets.

The DJ's were a bit poor as well, Danny Tenaglia was utter rubbish. The most uninteresting repetitive IDM ever.. yawn! Fatboy Slim was considerably better, but I was bored by then. Wont be going next year unless the venue changes somewhere better and theres a better DJ lineup.

Did a mix the other day as I haven't been doing any practising for ages. I rarely find myself with the time to even listen to the tracks, and its quite apparent in this mix. The tracks are nice, but I'm not happy with the transitions. They're beatmatched fine, but need more practise. That said, the tracks are really cool tho. So I'll stick it up anyway. I still listened to it at work about 6 times.

Hello.. Been a while since I added stuff to here. Last weekend Nikki and I went to the Isle of Wight Festival. First time I've been. Was an ace weekend of camping and music. Met up with Diggles there and other friends of Nikki's. Weather stayed pretty damn good the whole time we were there. Bar a tiny drizzle of rain just as we were setting up camp on Thursday evening. No mud what-so-ever, which for a festival is great!

I was also impressed at the hot shower cubicles they had on site as well. Provided you didn't go along in the early morning the queues were only a few minutes. Having a hot shower most days doesn't half make you feel alot better from waking up in a field

Heres a few pics, I didn't really take that many. The scale of the whole place is soo big, that you really need a decent zoom lens to get any decent pictures of stuff.

Heres a new little 30 minute mix I did tonight. Bought some new monitor speakers for better quality listening to music, and this is the 1st time I finally got round to hooking them up to my mixer.

Went to see Paul Oakenfold play at Southampton Uni last Wednesday. I didn't know what to expect at first, as I'm not really feeling his latest Perfecto tour sets. Has to be said though, he was absoutely awesome! The venue was perfect, small, only about 200 people tops.. Nice little University hall, was like having Oakenfold in your own living room!

Unfortunately it all went 'Pete Tong' only 40 minutes into his set. Some idiot set the fire alarm off and we all had to be evacuated into the freezing cold! Standing outside for ages, then when the fire alarm was finally reset, it was too late to resume and it was all over.. Utterly gutted!!

Anyway, managed to get my picture taken with him!

Heres a new little mix I did tonight. Hopefully it should be louder than last time, sorted out some amplitude levels. Little bit longer at 40-odd mins too. You can use snapshots to stream it from my server, if you just hover over the link.

Edit 15th October:
I've been using some new VST plugins for making things sound better. So I re-mastered and compressed this one with some newer much better tools, and re-compressed it at Lame quality level 4.

So after doing yesterdays quick mix, I decided to do another tonight, because I wasn't really happy with the errors in the last one. Putting it online really did make get back on the mixer and try again.. Yay for that
